Escapade 2024
Escapade 34 was held March 15-17, 2024 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton LAX North in Los Angeles, California. The theme of the con was "Rule 34". Most programming was in-person, with some online events, such as a such as the vidshow being streamed on Discord as well as in-person. Escapade Online 34.5 was held virtually July 13-14, 2024.

From slash fic on, fandom has made endless content that shocked people outside the community. What’s some of the weirdest porn you’ve found? Has R34 ever let you down? What’s the difference between slashers’ porn and what the mainstream thinks it is?
- Escapade: 20-second elevator question. - Think fast! Some non-Escapade hotel guests ask about your badge. What do you say in the 20 seconds you’re on the elevator together? In a broader sense, what, who, and how much do you tell about your life in fandom?
- The Good, The Bad, The Villain Origin Story. - Villain origin stories and spinoffs are hugely popular – we all want to see more of our poor little meow meows. But if you go too far trying to get sympathy for your villain, you soften the edge that made the villain interesting. If you establish the villain as an asshole from the start, you risk them being unlikable. Which stories worked? What villain would you like to see as a protagonist, and how would you make it work?

- Future of Escapade. - We’ve had two hybrid conventions and a virtual one, and over 30 years of in-person hotel conventions. - Polyamorous Crafting: Electric Craftaloo. - Sequel to Polyamorous Crafting — for the craftily-inclined among us! Bring your fiber crafts and latest crafting obsessions. - Cook With Me: Hand Pulled Noodles - I’m going to teach all of you my preferred recipe and technique for hand pulled noodles. Get a kitchen scale, a pot, some room temperature water, fresh nutritional yeast, salt, bread flour, and vegetable oil. You’ll need two bowls to work with, and be ready to move because once the recipe starts, we can’t stop. Fresh noodles will be ready to eat by the end. Follow along or just watch. :)
