Fandom

Jujutsu Kaisen quickly gained popularity on AO3 and Tumblr, with over 13,000 works posted to AO3 in the "呪術廻戦 | Jujutsu Kaisen (Anime)" fandom within ten months of the anime's premier. The manga (tagged as a separate fandom on AO3) followed a similar rise in popularity. [1]

A popular gen relationship focuses on the main trio of first years Fushiguro & Itadori & Fujisaki.

Many popular ships are centered around the protagonist, Yuji, with various members of the cast. Some of the most popular are Yuji x Gojo, Yuji x Sukuna, Yuji x Megumi, Megumi x Sukuna, or some combination of all of them. Gojo-sensei is also a popular character for shipping, and is often paired with Geto.

As for the female characters, Nobara x Maki is a popular femslash ship.

Parts of the fandom refer to themselves as Lobotomy Kaisen during breaks in the manga as a reference to the nonsensical and chaotic nature of fan activity during those periods.

JJK and Disney crossover

In late 2023, JJK characters x Disney characters became a popular trend on Tiktok. The trend began with creator @cloudstrifesimp on August 30th with two Gojo x Elsa edit, followed rapidly by Tiana x Nanami and Sukuna x Cinderella, and the crackship quickly gained popularity through tiktok[2]. While there is relatively canon lore posted by the creator, many other creators have hopped onboard to share their takes, headcanons, art and edits; as well as many more fans sharing their baffled amazement at the trend. See JJK and Disney crossover for more details.
