Welcome to the Fanlore Project for MCYT!

MCYT fandom is diverse and large, with a rich history spanning the past decade, but is largely undocumented, especially for things beyond the most mainstream subfandoms (Dream SMP/Hermitcraft/QSMP). This project aims to help alleviate this lack of documentation.

Scope

All things related to MCYT (this term being defined as related to Minecraft online video content), its community, and Minecraft topics that are culturally relevant to MCYT fandom.

Guidelines

  • Do create stubs with reckless abandon
  • Do create redirects
  • Don't add pages to the parent categories of Minecraft and/or YouTube RPF unless relevant
  • Include many perspectives and opinions
  • When possible, try to archive external links

Keep in mind

  • This is a RPF and FPF mixing pot fandom.
    • Which one something falls under is a case-by-case basis.
    • On ship profiles, whichever is more common should be the focus, but the other should be discussed too.
    • Content creator pages act as hybrid person and character pages (for all characters they play under the same name)
  • Fans use usernames, so unless the creator primarily goes by their real name, our articles should as well.
  • Ambiguous names have a couple of possible options for disambiguation: (MCYT), (streamer)...
  • All edits are welcome and appreciated
  • It's okay to help if you aren't a MCYT fan yourself and just enjoy doing research
