The Muffin Trio, also known simply as The Trio, was a group made up of Skeppy, BadBoyHalo, and A6D. There was a Youtube channel called The Trio and the three would do streams and videos together. A6D eventually left The Trio due to a controversy, which meant The Trio was no longer a trio. "Happy duo" began to be used in place of it, which likely lead to the popularization of other duo and trio group names in MCYT fandoms.

Disbanding
On February 1st, 2020, Skeppy tweeted that he was leaving the group.
There were so many times where I distanced myself from drama, but always found myself affiliated with it because of The Trio. It was really draining for me, and that’s something I don’t really want to be a part of.
Of course there were other reasons too, but we don’t really need to get into it. Regardless, I love Bad & A6D so much :) Don’t feel too bad we will probably still make videos together, and we’ve really only posted twice on The Trio channel.
This seemed to be temporary, however a few months later a6d would be "canceled" on Twitter for saying slurs, which seemed to permanently end the group and temporarily end the friendship between Skeppy and a6d.[4] Skeppy made a short stream saying him and a6d could no longer be friends, but that it wasn't because of the twitter drama and that a6d knew why.[5]
During this time BadBoyHalo tweeted in support of a6d, saying "A6d is my friend".[6]
I don't support everything my friends do or say. But everyone needs love, and I wouldn't be a good friend if I abandoned one of my friends in their darkest hour. In my opinion the best way to affect change in the world is to be a positive influence on the people in your life.
A few years later Skeppy and a6d seemed to reconcile, with Skeppy posting a video called THE TRIO RETURN![8] However the group remains basically dead with little else in the way of official content produced.
