Bubble Slides (Also called BBS) is a next-gen MCYT series, and the passion project of HighlordAowyn and their brother MalfyWalfy. The series has a present total of 7 editions with 7 (also called Legacy) being the current. The current edition is still a work in progress, and is still on its first book. However, there are 10 books planned already, along with a prequel, an epilogue, and a few side books.

Bubble Slides aims to take a large portion of MCYT lore from multiple sub-fandoms, and combine it into one universe. Of course with that, not everything will be precise or lore accurate... Since the series was also made for fun, there are many elements of originality and original content, alongside with personal preferences and ships. The ships in specific, are it's main road away from canon, and have their own unique story. Since the series is a next-gen project, most of the series is actually focused on the original next-gen characters made by Aowyn and Malf.

Edition Information

As stated prior, the series has 7 editions with 7 as the current; The 7th edition is also called Legacy. The previous 6 editions of the series are private, along with the beta text for edition 7 (the text before it's rewrite from 1st to 3rd person). Edition 6 is sadly no more, as it was deleted in a tragic accident; All that remains is a handwritten version of chapters 1 and 2 (private of course). There is also an edition 0, but it is counted as edition 1; They are combined despite being separate in their own ways.

Edition 6 is described by the creators as being "very similar to edition 7". The reason is because edition 7 is a modern and updated interpretation of edition 6. Before the accident that abruptly ended edition 6, the series was worked on majorly by MalfyWalfy as a gift to HighlordAowyn. Malf wrote the notes and storyline up to a 7th book, and had an 8th one in mind with Aowyn even after the series' deletion. After a long hiatus from Malf later that year, Aowyn took control of the series once more, and decided to create edition 7 in honor of Malf and edition 6. The storylines may not be fully exact to their prior editions, but that is the point as the series does update depending on the modern situation of MCYT content. Edition 7 contains more modern content than what was present in edition 6...

The Authors

Aowyn (HighlordAowyn) and Malfurginan/Malf (MalfyWalfy), as previously mentioned, are the creators of the series. Bubble Slides is posted on Aowyn's socials, because the series was originally their idea. Malf is currently back from his previous hiatus, and is working on the series again along with Aowyn.

The Characters

There are various characters from across MCYT that make a presence of some kind within the books. Supposedly Legacy's prequel "Origins", focuses on MCYTs and their histories within the BBS universe. The prequel book will also include stories in relations to original "Ancestor" characters made for MCYTs. The books that come after the prequel, are mainly focused on the "Next-Gen" characters: or original family characters related to MCYTs, specifically their kids.

The Story

[Origins] The in progress prequal for the series... There are multiple plots found in the text, but the main idea is centered around the backstories of MCYTs in the BBS universe. It was made to provide context to all lore prior to the main series. "Bubble Slides" was named after a joke character found in the earlier editions; That character makes a presence in Origins, and actually gets a significant plot piece in the book; This character is also one of the main mascots for the series. It is suggested that Origins ACTUALLY be read after book 9 due to the amount of plot it clears up for the main series, it's almost a huge spoiler for early readers. It's left up to interpretation when to read it, argued to be fine before diving into the main books, but also argued to be shoved aside until later for the best experience.

[Book 1] The in progress first book for the series... The story officially begins with one of the main characters, Sprinkles, making her way to school. Her fellow classmates, the main cast, proceed to run into various challenges throughout the rest of the story; Including: school crushes, town secrets, family legacies, and an annoying new student at school.

The Limitations of Bubble Slides

Bubble Slides is a difficult series to manage... The authors try to keep the series current and consistent, and it becomes difficult due to the mass amount of content that comes out daily from MCYTs. Also the mass amount of MCYTs in general, causes the series to seem overcrowded at moments as the authors try to include as many MCYT contents as possible. Due to the current issues that EmpiresSMP's adaption to the series has caused, no SMP or series after PiratesSMP will be included in Bubble Slides edition 7. As stated by Aowyn in a note: "No SMP or series that comes after the release of PiratesSMP will be included in Bubble Slides. Adding these things within the already cramped and limited story of the series is difficult, and will decrease the quality of the series. All of the content that comes after PiratesSMP will have to wait until edition 8 to get a chance to enter the story somehow"...

Bubble Slides has also been stated by the authors to be "complex"... It is noted that there are some things within the series that do not cater to all audiences. More about that is discussed in the official "Safety Note" for the series. The note was made as Aowyn was concerned about how people would react to the "biology and societies found in the series' hyperfantasy nature". Aowyn also wanted to inform her audience of the MCYTs and MCYT related content that was excluded and even banned from the series.

Where to Read

The BBS is available to read on Wattpad. The series has faced a difficulty with tagging itself on Ao3, but according to Aowyn and Malf, that issue has been resolved and the series will make it's way onto the site sometime in February 2024.
