Truthing is a term used in RPF fandoms to refer to the act of speculating on the relationships, sexuality and gender identity, or disorders of a public figure or content creator. People who partake in the activity are known as truthers.
It is frequently looked down upon by members of fandom on both on Twitter and Tumblr, and it is not uncommon to see "truthers DNI" as a disclaimer on fan accounts. Truthing is notably common in the MCYT fandom, where the term originates from.
Ok since calling out weird behaviors in the fandom seems to be the current topic. I think we should stop normalizing gender/sexuality truthing jokes. Specially for the younger ccs. It's weird and invasive.especdreamy on Twitter [1]

Usage of the term truthing in a joking way to refer to anything you believe has also become commonplace. For example, if someone believes in the headcanon that Tilín and Tallulah from QSMP are twins, they might call themselves a "twins truther".
