Dominion SMP is a "lightly modded" lore (storytelling/roleplay) focused Minecraft SMP server created by Legundo. Its primary focus is the Origins mod (a mod assigning players an "origin", typically themed around a creature from Minecraft or real life, which then effects different aspects of gameplay), which is used for storytelling purposes. Each player has a different origin, which inspires their character's story. Players tell stories both individually for their own characters and in groups or server-wide.

Canon

The players on Dominion SMP each play a character, generally inspired by the player's origin -- for instance, Legundo, whose origin is Piglin, plays a champion of a piglin tribe trying to take over the Overworld by economic conquest. Content on the server is made in both livestreams (typically on Twitch or YouTube) and videos, and storytelling is a combination of improvised acting and scenes that are scripted to varying extents.

While Dominion is broken into "seasons" similarly to other SMPs, the seasons take place in the same Minecraft world, simply moving to a different area and continuing overarching storylines. Season 1 of Dominion ended on 3 September 2022, and Season 2 started on 13 October 2022. Season 2 is currently ongoing.

The Dominion SMP modpack's main focus is Origins, which assigns each player a set of additional skills and weaknesses themed around a particular creature or being; for instance, Legundo plays as a piglin origin. Origins can also change gameplay factors like the player's height or diet. The Dominion modpack also includes some additional tools, such as hammers and excavators, and waystones allowing teleportation across a waystone network. In Season 2, the Better End mod was added in order to support the main storyline. Dominion is often referred to as being a "Vanilla Plus" experience by creators, meaning that the gameplay remains mostly similar to non-modded Minecraft.

Original members are Legundo (founder), Fixxitt 412, GradyTV, Jammers/JamieJoan, RNJoy, NotNotBrock (whitelisted but inactive), Nukeri, ShadowMech, Sneve, SwitchBackMongo, and TaneeshaHogan. VikingPilot joined partway through Season 1, uploading his first video on 10 May 2022. Four new members have joined in Season 2 thus far: ProGameBot/Josh and Kiply at the beginning of the season, and It_Ryan and DaLilRed in a livestream event on 16 November 2022.
