No Rest for the Wicked is a FPF Minecraft YouTube fanfiction by A_Ghoul. The story is a Gen Minecraft Manhunt AU where Dream is the hunter instead of being the one hunted that takes place in the world of the Dream SMP. The story was posted to Archive of Our Own between April 2021 and September 2022. It was deleted sometime early in 2023.

Summary

Dream's worked for the Emperor for as long as he can remember. He's the best there is--a manhunter like no other.

A manhunter who trained for years. Who never got a childhood. Who wants nothing more than to just run for the sake of it, rather than the sake of the hunt.

Too bad there's no escaping the Emperor and Dream would rather live chained than die free... at least that's what he thought. Then he's sent to kill three traitors. Then he meets Sapnap and George and Bad. Then he realizes maybe there are some things worth dying for. (Friendship being one of them.)

Author Notes

A_Ghoul clarifies that the story is based on creators' public fictional characters they role play as and not the content creators themselves. They also warn readers to check the tags as it's a dark story but also that they'll put content warnings at the beginning of every chapter. They emphasis a few specific content warnings that will be present throughout the fic: mental health issues, PTSD, implied/referenced torture and abuse, suicidal ideation, and dehumanization.
