Scott Summers is the alter ego of Cyclops from the Marvel Comics series The X-Men. He generally appears as a main character in all the X-Men universes such as Marvel Comics: Earth-616, X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men: Evolution, Wolverine and the X-Men, and X-Men Movieverse.


Scott is a mutant born with eyes that emits a powerful energy beam called an "optic blast".

Scott first appeared as Cyclops in X-Men #1 (September 1963).

James Marsden plays him in the X-Men Movieverse as an adult in the first three movies, in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Cyclops appears as a teenager by actor Tim Pocock. In Logan, it's implied that Scott was one of the X-Men that died in the Professor X's accidental psychic attack. In X-Men: Apocalypse, a younger version of him was portrayed by Tye Sheridan. Sheridan reprised his role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix and made a cameo in Deadpool 2.
