In October 2014, the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom exploded with the canon clip that showed that Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are at Clint Barton's Farm[1]. Due to the lack of news and appearance of Clint/Hawkeye since the end of The Avengers (2012) film and his lack of MCU canon history, many fans gobbled up the headcanon of Clint Barton owning a farm and being at the farm since then. When it first appeared, many fans believed that it broke the fandom[2].
Since then, various fanworks, fan theories, and headcanons have since been created surrounding the trope[3] on Twitter, Tumblr and AO3.
