The Thanus Theory is a half-crack, half-serious fan theory that originated in 2018. It speculates how in the movie Avengers: Endgame (2019), Scott Lang, the alter-ego of Ant-Man, could defeat Thanos by shrinking to ant-size, crawl through the Mad Titan's anus and expand again from the inside, killing the villain in the process.
Paul Rudd, the actor who portrayed Scott Lang in the movies Ant-Man (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019), was confronted with the theory in an interview in July 2018: Paul Rudd reacts to the theory that Ant Man could defeat Thanos
