Mkashef Enterprises is a multimedia zine publisher with a focus on slash. It was created by Dovya Blacque.

The editor of As I Do Thee #2, one of this publisher's zines, says wrote that "Mkashef" is "Hebrew, and "it means Sorcerer or Wizard. A form of the word means Witch..."

In addition to zines, he also produced Intimate Details, a game. Even after the closure of its website, Mkashef Enterprises remains active in its role as a zine publisher.

This press and Pon Farr Press were very much entwined, both personally and professionally. When Pon Farr Press stumbled, Mkashef Enterprises became its spokesperson, and while did not legally take over its debt and responsibilities, it attempted to make things right with fans regarding the zines they had paid for. See Pon Farr Press.

Went Online in 1999

At first, the publisher did business by word of mouth and through the mail beginning in 1993 or before.

In June 1999, it went online with a website:

I am very pleased to make two announcements:

1- The MKASHEF Enterprises web page! ASIDOZINES.COM should be up and running by mid-May 1999! Check it out for complete zine listings for MKASHEF Enterprises, Pon Farr Press, Wendy Rathbone zines and Taerie Bryant zines. Also, there's a beautifully designed page devoted solely to PRISONERS OF THE NIGHT. ASIDOZINES.COM will be updated regularly so make the occasionally visit to see what’s up around here.

2- Orders for MKASHEF Enterprises zines can now be made by VISA, MasterCard or American Express! A credit card form is at the back of this zine. Feel free to make copies for your use. [2]

From an early webpage introduction:

Welcome to the absolute BEST, Ultimate Fanzine Page containing "classic" as well as ground-breaking "new" zine titles. This page is divided into fandom sections: STAR TREK, BLAKE'S 7, MULTI-MEDIA, MIAMI VICE, WISEGUY, YOUNG GUNS, QUANTUM LEAP, THE PROFESSIONALS, BEAUTY & THE BEAST, VAMPIRES. So feel free to click directly to your chosen fandom or take the time to peruse the entire selection. Whichever, have fun! [3]

A 1993 Submission Request

From On the Double #23:

Has all that dust covering the K/S novel you've had tucked away at the back of your closet for twenty years begun to take on a personality of its own? Are those 1,589 pages of hot, torrid Miami Vice, all about Crockett and Castillo, wearing thin as a doorstop? Do you have the definitive answer to "How do Hooker and Corrigan, Lundy and LaFiamma, Starsky and Hutch, Ironhorse and Blackwood, Cooper and Truman, McCall and Kostmeyer, Sikes and Francisco, Terranova and McPike (or Steelgrave or Lococco), Illya and Napoleon, Hanson and Penhall.... feel about each other? Well, MKASHEF Enterprises is looking for you! Please write to this address with a quick note about what you've got, how long it is, and (very important!) if you're IBM (preferably WordPerfect) compatible! And don't forget to include a SASE and note which fandom you're working in. No ST: The Next Generation or The Professionals, please!
