from Nome #8: "It is nothing short of amazing to me how anyone can draw a portrait. How can an artist with a pen or pencil manage to capture the essence of a person in a way that a camera can only hint at? It isn‘t often that it happens, but certainly this is one of those instances. This is Spock. I want to touch the gleaming hair on his slightly wrinkled forehead. I want to gently ask what causes his huge dark eyes to look so sad. This is gorgeous and I hope there is a matching Kirk at the turn of a page. Sadly, there is not – but that doesn‘t diminish my admiration for this piece. Kirk is here in this picture – unseen – he and the love his friend holds for him is captured in Spock‘s expression. I know from the uniform Spock has recently returned from Gol, so I am able to read into this masterpiece all that is necessary." [1]
