Loki/Sylvie is the pairing of Loki and Sylvie from the Loki TV series.
Fandom
This pairing appeared immediately after episode 3, when Loki and Sylvie had substantial interactions in canon. Sylki saw a surge in popularity following episode 4 with many fans entering the fandom and creating works for this pairing. There was immediate conflict with Lokius shippers as it became increasingly clear that Sylki may be the endgame pairing.
Many fans who preferred a sibling dynamic between Loki and Sylvie, were also Mobius/Loki shippers who would prefer Loki's relationship with Sylvie remain platonic. These fans began using Chaos Twins to denote the gen Loki & Sylvie relationship.
There was a delay in assigning this pairing a canonical tag on Ao3, likely due to the confusion associated with Sylvie's surname.[1] This meant many early Sylki writers were using multiple tags for their fanfiction. Many of the most common tags also used formats associated with Ao3's tagging system, such as: Loki/Sylvie Laufeydottir, Loki/Sylvie (Marvel), Sylki - Relationship and Loki/Sylvie Lushton.
Criticisms
Following the release of Loki episode 4, there was widespread wank in fandom. Sylvie, a Loki variant, was presented as a possible love interest for Loki. This resulted in a considerable amount of anti-shipping amongst fans who did not approve of selfcest.
This pairing is also criticized as it is a m/f ship. Following the reveal that Loki and Sylvie are bisexual in episode 3, many fans saw their romantic relationship as a cop out - a way for Disney/Marvel to have a "straight" romance while showing minimal queer representation, as it has happened many times in other fandoms where a popular queer character is given a straight passing relationship.

- ^ As of 17 July 2021, there was no canonical relationship tag for Loki/Sylvie. The canonical tag was created by 19/07/2021. This naming of this tag Loki/Sylvie (Loki TV) avoided all issues associated with Sylvie's disputed surname in the canon of the TV series. Sylvie's character tag appears to have been created at the same time and uses the same format.
