Frank Castle is a Marvel Comics character, who has appeared in several live-action adaptations. Most recently Frank Castle has appeared as The Punisher in the Daredevil and Punisher TV series, which are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Frank Castle first appears in Daredevil season 2. He is determined to kill everyone associated with the deaths of his family. This puts him in conflict with Matt Murdock's Daredevil. Frank is arrested, put on trial and convicted for his crimes. He escapes from prison with help from the Kingpin, Wilson Fisk, and begins to realise that his family was murdered by his former commanding officer, Ray Schoonover (Blacksmith) to cover up his crimes in Afghanistan. Castle kills the Blacksmith, alienating his last friend Karen Page in the process.
In the Punisher season 1, Frank Castle is presumed dead and trying to live a normal life. He is approached by Micro, a hacker who knows why Frank and his family were targeted. Frank is initially mistrustful and approaches Karen Page to find out more about Micro. He kidnaps Micro, interrogating him, before the two eventually agree to work together.

Based on works currently on Ao3, Frank Castle/Karen Page is the most popular pairing for Frank, as is known by the ship name Kastle. The most popular slash pairing is Frank Castle/Matt Murdock. The gen pairings of Frank Castle & Karen Page and Frank Castle & Matt Murdock are also quite common.[1]
