Clint/Bucky is a pairing between Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) in the Marvel Universes.
Canon
Comics
Clint and Bucky's comics history interwines around other characters, namely carrying on Steve Rogers' legacy after his death as well as their romantic relationship with Natasha Romanoff. At first, their relationship is defined by their rivalry that soon transforms into an easy friendship with e.g. Clint throwing Bucky his first birthday party after his return. Their team-up in Tales of Suspense is mostly characterized by back-and-forth snarking and grudging respect.
MCU
The characters haven't interacted in the MCU but while official storyboard art suggests that Captain America: The Winter Soldier would have included a scene where Clint and Bucky discuss the brainwashing they went through, the scene never made it into the movie. Nevertheless, the potential interaction highlights some of the typical plot points and themes often present in Winterhawk fic.
Fandom
While the characters' relationship is much more defined in the comics than in the movies, the pairing did not gain popularity until the premier of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014. In the MCU fandom, the pairing is primarily based on elements the characters have in common, such as experience with brainwashing, PTSD, and disability; post-TWS fanon often had Bucky staying in the Avengers Tower with the rest of the team, providing an easy set-up for various Bucky ships, among which Winterhawk became its own niche.
Excerpts from the Tales of Suspense comic published in 2018 went viral on Tumblr, gaining tens of thousands of notes and bringing in even more fans who started shipping them in the 616 verse. Fans often cited the funny banter between the characters as the main draw.[1]

- Recovery: one or both recovering from canonical psychological (and occasionally physical) trauma, eventually befriending one another due to similar experiences.
- Team-ups: becoming S.H.I.E.L.D. partners, going rogue together or randomly teaming up on missions.
- When Clint's hearing loss is imported from comics canon into MCU-based fics, issues involving disability may also come up in fic.
