The WinterHawk Big Bang is a big bang challenge in Marvel fandom, focused on the pairing of Clint Barton/Bucky Barnes. Authors had to write a minimum of 7500 words, and artists had create a minimum of one of a medium of their choice. The first round, in 2017, was a mini-bang, and the 2019 round was a reverse bang.

That all changes the day Bucky finds himself inside CATastrophe, the local pet rescue, recovering from a panic attack in the back room of the shop.
He’s used to walking by the place, not visiting, but the next thing Bucky knows, he’s hanging signs and being used as a climbing tree for a bunch of freshly-acquired kittens. And he just…keeps going back. First for the kittens, then for the disaster shop owner who rescues actual kittens from actual trees and teaches archery as a side-gig, and eventually because he’s hopelessly in love.

It’s been weeks since Clint and Natasha stood in knee deep snow and watched an aurora borealis curl across the night sky, taking out all technology in the area and leaving them to fend for themselves. They might be able to hold on until help arrives (if it ever does), but now there’s six mouths to feed and the food supply is running short. With the threat of starvation hanging over their heads, Clint makes a choice. He has his bow, he has his arrows, and he’s still strong enough to hunt game bigger than a rabbit; even if he has little to no idea how to find it.
He doesn’t expect Bucky Barnes, Steve’s boyfriend and mostly silent member of their newfound group, to join him. They set out together, not sure what will take them first: the freezing temperatures, the roaming wolves, or gnawing hunger.
