A nice, long fic to get lost in for a while, with Thor bartering half of his golden apple with Loki each moth for a brief truce each time. It’s a pretty slow build, but really that’s more honest to the pairiing and how far they have to go to heal the rift between them before they can come to a place where they can be together.[1]
Oh slow build, how I love it. They’re very much becoming reacquainted and clearing the air though neither of these things is easy or straightforward because, well, Loki.[2]
Seriously amazing fic that takes place some time after the Avengers. I thought both Loki and Thor were wonderfully portrayed here and their complex relationship was beautifully captured. I thought the pacing and the evolution was perfect, and the ending was lovely. The sequel was lovely and sweet and a fantastic snapshot of their lives.[3]
This one seems to be another justified fandom classic (and I’m sorry I’m not reccing more obscure fics and authors, considering my own position, but I tend to read based on recommendation, so… I’m part of my own problem). From the summary: “Thor strikes a deal with Loki: each month, he will trade half of his golden apple for one day spent together in a temporary truce.” Thor picks a different location on earth for each month, which means that along with the delicious tension – sexual, emotional, and familial – you also get some delicious scenery and fun little nods to local specialties.
