Evan Daniels, code name Spyke, was a character created for the X-Men: Evolution TV show. He has never been fully adapted into the comics universe.
Canon
Spyke was introduced as an original character both to better reflect the audience and to show a new side of Storm.[1]
Fandom
Fans were hostile to Spyke from the beginning. Some felt that it was unrealistic for Storm to suddenly have a sister in America despite growing up in Africa. Others felt that his hobby of skateboarding was too close to existing stereotypes of Black characters in comic books.[2]. A popular rumor was that Spyke had been written out of the show due to lack of popularity.[3] While never officially confirmed, the same rumors continue to the present day.[4]
There were some fans of Spyke who shipped him with Pietro Maximoff, as they were introduced in the same episode with an antagonistic relationship. Evietro was the main ship for Spyke.

I thought, “Why doesn’t anybody on the team look like them?” The X-Men had been around for forty years. There had never been a black teenage guy on the team and it seemed unfair. We decided to make him Storm’s nephew because it gave us an angle to see Storm in a way we’d never seen her before."

I really hope they at least give him a farewell episode and not just have him with the Morlocks and he never returns. Maybe this will finally give Storm more of a purpose than just being Spyke's personally baby-sitter. Anyway are the rumors true?"
