Laurel/Matt is a het crossover pairing of Matt Murdock from Daredevil (TV series) and Laurel Lance from the Arrow fandoms.
Canon
Since Laurel Lance/Black Canary and Matt Murdock/Daredevil are from different comic book companies, they are not canon nor will ever meet.
Fandom
The fandom behind the pairing started appearing on Tumblr soon after Daredevil was released on Netflix, due to the characters similar characteristics: vigilantes and lawyers. It was quickly nicknamed "Vigilante Lawyers" and "Murlance".
"My first thought after binge watching Daredevil on Netflix was wondering what Laurel Lance (Black Canary) from Arrow and Matt Murdock would be like as a couple. I’ve been into weirder crossover ships. I’m not completely onboard as it’s debatable of whether Matt would be any better than Oliver. UPDATE: bisexualbarry has christened the ship Vigilante Lawyers and I’ve mulled it over enough that I’m onboard."[1]
On April 19, 2015, dianedanger007 created Vigilantes At Law, a Tumblr blog for the pairing[2].
