Quotation to NQuote

Hi OfMonstersAndWerewolves, just to let you know, there's no need to change {{Quotation}} to {{NQuote}} in articles. Template:NQuote was created specifically for nested quotes. Template:Quotation is the original quote template and allows an alternative attribution format. It is not deprecated and can be left in articles where quotes don't need to be nested. --sparc 21:43, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi sparc. Yeah, I think the first time I found out about the NQuote was when I was trying to figure out how to portray a Tumblr reblog or something.

The reason I've been changing some of the quotation templates to NQuote templates is because the NQuote also adapts to any overlaps, if that makes sense. So for instance, opening a content page in the info box when there's a quote below it would normally just have the info box expand over the quote box. The quote would move, but the box wouldn't. But with an NQuote it does.

It's not a massive difference, but imo at least it does make the pages look a bit better in terms of layout and format.

There may be a different way of doing it though of course that I don't know about. And I could be missing something. OfMonstersAndWerewolves (talk) 22:45, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Ah, I forgot that the Quotation template still has the overlap issue! That makes sense why you were changing them - I agree that it looks better. Although I would prefer to fix the Quotation template rather than swap everything to NQuote :) I restarted the conversation at the template talk page since a fix was proposed a long time ago and never got implemented. OfMonstersAndWerewolves We're delighted that you've accepted our invitation to become an Advanced Editor. We have already authorized your new status and you now have full Advanced Editor rights.
