Can I ask a question?
You kindly helped me when I started posting earlier in the week. Can I ask a formatting question?
I am working on the post The Holmsies Awards and I want to use the same citation for two separate quotes. Can I use the ref name= to do that? I can’t find it mentioned in the help pages. Thanks. Alessnox (talk) 23:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yup! For regular one-time use references you use the <ref>this is a citation</ref>, but to use multiple use reference you would do <ref name=NAMEHERE>this is a citation to be used more than once</ref>. Then, any time you want to use that same ref a second or third or basically any other time, all you need to do is insert <ref name=NAMEHERE></ref> and it will direct to the same ref in the ref list. This page here (Creatures) has a few examples, ref 1 and 13 use the ref name trick. Patchlamb (talk) 23:55, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

- Ah I see! That's okay, you can always add it after your new user period is up, or otherwise add the pic in as a reference or quote. Patchlamb (talk) 18:06, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
