Positive fan reaction to Bucky and Sarah flirting led to a TV Guide reporter asking the director of all six episodes, Kari Skogland, if there is any unused footage of the two interacting.
"There was a little more flirting, I will give it that," Skogland confirmed to TV Guide. "I loved the dynamic between Adepero and Sebastian, or Bucky and Sarah. I love that dynamic and it was really fun because, of course, you can imagine Sam was just not up for that... We did have a bit more from that scene we decided not to put in, but it was very enjoyable."

Fans excited by this admission started using the hashtags #ReleaseTheBuckySarahCut and #ReleaseTheBuckyandSarahCut. On April 30th 2021 the hashtag trended on twitter.[4]
