America Chavez is a Marvel Comics Character best known from the second iteration of the Young Avengers. She also part of the superhero teams A-Force, The Ultimates (Earth 616), and the third version of the West Coast Avengers.
America starred in her own 12-issue solo series named America in 2017-2018. Her second solo series, America Chavez: Made in the USA premiered in March 2021
America Chavez is expected to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the second Doctor Strange movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Canon
America first appeared in Vengence #1 in July 2011, but became better-known in January 2013, when she was re-introduced as part of Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's new team of Young Avengers.
America Chavez was born in an alternate dimension known as the Utopian Parallel where her mothers were powerful superheroes. As a child, America's mothers sent her to the main Marvel Universe for her safety, before sacrificing themselves to save their home universe.
She has the ability to open star-shaped portals between locations and dimensions, as well as superhuman strength, speed, invulnerability and flight.
America Chavez canonically identifies as a lesbian and is currently dating Ramone Watts.
