Young Avengers is a Marvel Comics superhero series created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung in 2005.
Canon
The main characters for the comic series are:
- Nathaniel Richards aka Iron Lad is the founder, who would one day be Kang the Conqueror
- Theodore "Teddy" Altman aka Hulkling, is a shape-shifter who is a son of Kree hero Captain Mar-Vell and the Skrull princess Anelle.
- Elijah "Eli" Bradley aka Patriot, is the grandson of super-soldier Isaiah Bradley
- William "Billy" Kaplan aka Wiccan, is the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch and original Vision.
- Kate Bishop aka Hawkeye, is skilled in archery and swords - she forcibly joined the team after saving them.
- Cassie Lang aka Stature, is the daughter of Scott Lang.
- Thomas "Tommy" Shepherd aka Speed, is the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch and the original Vision thus is Wiccan's twin brother.
The second series for the comic series include:
- Loki Laufeyson as Kid Loki, an Asgardian prince and the adoptive brother of the superhero Thor, trapped in the body of a young boy following his death and reincarnation
- America Chavez aka Miss America, is super strong and can fly, and has the power to create portals between universes with her kicks
- Noh-Varr as Marvel Boy, is a Kree superhero with enhanced speed, stamina, reflexes and strength, and owns a wide selection of advanced alien weaponry
- David Alleyne aka Prodigy, a former X-Men and lost his previous powers due to M-Day and now has possesses the combined knowledge of every mind he has encountered up to M-Day.

The fandom had a sizeable Tumblr presence during the time when "Young Avengers Volume 2" was released. The issue's writer, Kieron Gillen, also has a Tumblr account that he used to interact with fans. Fans' opinions about Volume 2 were very sharply divided, which led to a lot of wank.
