• April: Stargate fic rec (LJ link) opens, for recs in SG-1, SGA, and ultimately, SGU.
• May 23: SGAncient Legacy (archived y!group link), an SG-1 and SGA RPG opens.
• June 27: atlantean_art (LJ link), a community for fanart opens. It is active through 2011.
• July: sheppard_n_weir (archived y!group link) opens.
• July: ColSheppardHaven (y!group link) opens.
• July: Stargate_Atlantis_Talk (y!group link) opens.
• July 1: pegasus_gate (LJ link) and (y!group link), affiliated communities open for all m/m and f/f slash. The Livejournal community remains active through 2011. The y!group runs through 2008.
• July 16: The Rising, the pilot episode, first airs in the US.

• August: Puddle Jumper Stargate Atlantis (y!group link) opens.
• August: The Stargate SG-1 archive Heliopolis starts accepting SGA fanfiction.
• August 6 : johnandteyla (y!group link), a PG-rated group for John/Teyla fanworks and discussion. It is active through 2011.
• August 6: SG_Atlantis_STFever (y!group link), an adult group for John/Teyla fanfiction opens. It is active through 2010.
• August 15: mckay_sheppard, a Livejournal community for the Rodney McKay/John Sheppard pairing opens. At over 11,000 entries in 2011, it is the most active pairing community in the fandom.
• September: metalantis (LJ link) opens.
• September: SGAHC (y!group link) opens for h/c-focused discussion and fanfic.
• September 12: pegasuschicks (y!group link, the first Femslash community. It remains active through 2011.
• September 18: sheppardandweir (y!group link) opens for fic and discussion. It remains active through 2011.
• September 24: shepfordwives (y!group link) opens for all things Aiden Ford/John Sheppard. It remains active through 2007.

• October 2: The SG-1 archive Area 52: The HKH Standard adds search and pairing options for SGA pairings.
• November: atlantis_gate_2 (y!group link), a shared universe group opens.
• November 7: Sheppard_Ford (LJ link), a Sheppard/Ford community opens. It remains active through 2006.
• November 9: Wraithbait SGA fanfic archive opens its doors.
• December 11: prime_not_prime (LJ link), a community focused on m/m slash that allows f/f open. It runs through 2007.

2005

• Janurary 10: mckayweir (LJ link) opens for the McKay/Weir pairing. It remains active through 2010.
• February 14: Atlantis News begins posting a weekly newsletter of meta, art, vids, fanfic lists, episode reviews, news, etc. It does not list fanfiction individually. It stops posting in March 2006.
• February 26: SGA Flashfic community on Livejournal kicks off its first challenge.
• April 11: SGA Storyfinders community on Livejournal starts.
• April 25: SGA Noticeboard community on Livejournal starts.
• June 7: Atlantis Vids (LJ Link), a community for vidders opens. It remains active through 2011.
• June 14: teyla_mckay (LJ link), a Teyla/Rodney community opens. It remains active through 2009.
• June 20: mcshep_awards05 (LJ link), a community to run the awards for 2005 opened, picking up the effort from an earlier project that had been cancelled.
• July: gatefans (UK y!group link) opens.
• July 12: lostcityfound (LJ link) a moderated Gen and Het community opens for fanfic posting. It remains active through 2011.
• July 15: The Siege, Part 3 the first episode of Season 2, airs in the US. This is the last episode featuring Aiden Ford as a regular character. Atlantis now has contact with Earth.
• July 17: SGA Newsletter starts publishing.
• July 25: Runner airs in the US, marking the debut of Ronon Dex and the first appearance of Parrish.
• August: kavtolanon (LJ link) Kavanagh Tolerators Anonymous opens.
• August: rdfever (y!group link) Ronon Dex-focused group for fic, art, vids, discussion and more opens.
• August 12: ronon_sex (LJ link}, an adult community for Ronon Dex opens. It remains active through 2009.
• August 15: ronon_teyla (LJ link), a community for the Teyla/Ronon pairing opens. It remains active through 2011.
• August 24: wondergeeks (LJ link), a community for the Rodney McKay/Radek Zelenka pairing opens. It remains active through 2010.
• September 30: Stargate Search (LJ link) opens, for finding fic, meta, vids, websites, art, etc. in SG-1, SGA, and SGU.
• October: gate_bitextual (LJ link) community opens for stories that have both het and slash themes.
• October: atlantisfic (LJ community)( LJ link) opens.
• October: physics_flyboys (LJ link), a gen community for all things McKay and Sheppard opens. The community is active until 2009.
• October: wraithbeta (y!group link) opens for beta requests and offers.
• October 2: Atlantis-RPG (y!group link), Deutsch Rollenspiels, a German RPG opens.
• October 5: dex_slash (LJ link), a community for all slash works involving Ronon Dex opens. It remains active through 2011.
• October 6: sheppard_teyla (LJ link), adult community for John/Teyla opens (affiliated with the SG_Atlantis_STFever y!group). It is active through 2011.
• October 8: stfever (LJ link) A fic community for John/Teyla shippers opens, affiliated with the Gateworld John/Teyla forum. It is active through to March 2007.
• October 9: SGA Santa holiday fic exchange begins preparation.
• October 11: SGA_Fusion, multifandom (LJ link), opens for stories that bring characters from other fandoms onto Atlantis. It runs until 2008.
• October 21: weir_caldwell (LJ link) opens for the Weir/Caldwell pairing. In 2011, an attempt is made to renew interest in the community.
• October 26: beckett_cadman (LJ link) opens. It remains active until 2009.
• October 30: mckay_cadman (LJ link), a community for Laura Cadman/Rodney McKay opens. It remains active through 2009.
• September 19: sheppard_dex (LJ link), a community for Ronon Dex/John Sheppard opens. It remains active through 2011.
• November 9: SG Vid Recs (LJ Link), a vid recommendation and request community opens. It remains active through 2007.
• December: Atlantis Kink (LJ link) opens on Livejournal.
• December 22: Stargate_Atlantis_Slash (y!group link), group for slash fic submissions to the The Wonderful World of Makebelieve archive. It is still active through 2011.
• December 27: sga_john_teyla (LJ link), PG community for John/Teyla opens (affiliated with the johnandteyla y!group). It is active through 2011.

2006

• January: jumperbay (y!group link) a gen group opens (now defunct).
• January 2: mcdex (LJ link), a community for the Ronon Dex/Rodney McKay pairing opens. It remains active through 2011.
• January 11: parrish_lorne (LJ link), a community for the Parrish/Lorne pairing opens. It remains active through 2011.
• January 12: zedexa (LJ link), a community for the Ronon Dex/Radek Zelenka pairing opens. It remains active through 2010.
• January 13:rockett_ship (LJ link), a community for the Carson Beckett/Ronon Dex pairing opens. It remains active through 2007.

• April: rdfever (LJ link) sister Livejournal comm to the mailing list is begun.
• April 8: john_teyla (LJ link), a John/Teyla community open to all fanworks and discussion opens. It remains active through 2011.
• April 15: Sheppard H/C, a LJ community dedicated to John Sheppard whump, h/c and angst, opens. It remains active through 2011.
• May 18: [[sg_femslash], the first Gateverse general femslash community on Livejournal opens. It remains active through 2011.
• May 26: mcmitchell_luv (LJ link), a community for the Rodney McKay/Cameron Mitchell pairing opens. It remains active through 2009.
• May 29: jt_newsletter (LJ link) a John/Teyla newsletter begins. It runs through September 2008.
• June: Stargate gen rec (LJ link) opens for gen recs in SG-1 and SGA.
• June 6: fish_like_bikes (LJ link), a community for the Stargate female character kink and cliche challenge opens and runs for one year.
• July: beckett_weir (LJ link) opens. The community is defunct.
• July: je_ficathon (LJ link), opens. It closes in November 2006.
• July 28: The SG-1 episode The Pegasus Project airs in the US. A crossover with SGA, Cameron Mitchell, Samantha Carter, Vala Mal Doran and Daniel Jackson visit Atlantis.
• August: sheps_atlantis (LJ link) a gen community on Livejournal opens.
• August 1:sgart_exchange (LJ link), sign ups open for the SGA Art Exchange fest which runs for one year.
• August 3: stargatefanart (y!group link), a fanart group for SG-1 and SGA open. It remains active through 2008.
• August 6: Satedan Fire (LJ link), an adult community for fans of Ronon Dex opens. It remains active through 2011.
• August 8: atlantis_ladies (LJ link), a community for fanworks and discussion about 7 female main cast and recurring characters. It remains active through 2011.
• August 24: mckay_lorne (LJ link), a community for the Evan Lorne/Rodney McKay pairing opens. It remains active through 2010.
• August 24: sg_rarepairings (LJ link) begins taking sign ups for the 2006 Rare Pairings Ficathon.
• September 19: john_teyla_fic (LJ link) opens for a John/Teyla ficathon. The fest runs for 3 years through 2008.
• October: atlantis-rpg (y!group link) Deutsches Rollenspiel; German RPG is started.
• October 7: lorne_sheppard (LJ link), a community for the Evan Lorne/John Sheppard pairing opens. It remains active through 2010.
• October 31: teyla_michael (LJ link), a community for the Teyla/Michael ship opens. It remains active through 2011.
• November 3: McKay/Sheppard Fan Awards opens with new mods, and runs through 2008.

2007

• January 2: icarus posts meta essay The SGA Project, a.k.a., "Flavor Of The Year.", an overview of (primarily slash, John and Rodney-focused) SGA fic trends of 2006.
• January 29: sheppard_liz (LJ link), a community for Sheppard/Weir discussion that is unrestricted. It remains active through 2010.
• February 9: sticksandsnark began taking sign ups for the first Rodney/Teyla Thing-a-Thon. The fest continues through 2010.
• March 1: team_sga (LJ link), a community for Gen teamfic and OT4 ship fic opens. It remains active through 2010.
• March 3: Ronon Ficathon (LJ link) begins taking sign ups for the first round. The ficathon runs for one year but is revived in 2011.
• May 2: mcshep_match opens on Livejournal for the first challenge.
• May 15: lonelytartsclub (LJ link) Home of the John/Vala thing-a-thon which runs for one year.
• May 21: Sign ups for first SGA Big Bang Challenge
• June 1: Sunday airs in the US, and the original version of Carson Beckett is killed off.
• June 22: First Strike airs in the US, and Jennifer Keller makes her first appearance.
• June 27: spark_daily (LJ link), a Sheppard/Weir community for drabbles opens. It remains active through 2010.
• June 27: sparky_daily (LJ link), a community for daily posting of Sheppard/Weir photos and art opens. It remains active through 2011.
• July 3: sg_flyboys (LJ link), a community for the Cameron Mitchell/John Sheppard pairing opens. It remains active through 2011.
• July 7: mcsmooch (LJ link), a challenge community for short kissing-themed fanworks for the McKay/Sheppard pairing opens.
• July 12: weir_mitchell (LJ link), a community for the SGA/SG1 pairing of Cameron Mitchell/Elizabeth Weir opens. It remains active through 2010.
• August: SGA H/C Challenges (LJ link), a gen, H/C challenge community opens.
• August 3: sga_beya (LJ link) a moderated fanworks community opens for John/Teyla works. It remains active through 2011.
• August 15 atlantisslash (IJ link), a slash communtiy on InsaneJournal opens. It remains active through 2010.
• October: sga_talk (LJ link) opens for discussions of a different SGA fanfic every few weeks. It ran until December 2009.
• October 12: Reunion airs in the US, and Samantha Carter, who had appeared in several episodes of the series, is named the new commander of Atlantis.
• October 17: mckay_keller (LJ link), a community for the Jennifer Keller/Rodney McKay pairing opens. It remains active through 2010.
• October 18: SGA Art Santa opens for sign ups for the first time. The exchange fest runs each year as a secret santa for fanartists.
• October 19: Doppleganger airs in the US, and Kate Heightmeyer is killed off.
• December 7: sg_onesweetlove (LJ link), a community for the Ronon Dex/Jennifer Keller pairing opens. It remains active through 2011.

2008

• January: SGA Genficathon (LJ link) begins taking sign ups for the first fest.
• January: SGA Episodefic (LJ link) opens on Livejournal.
• January: PegasusGalaxyFans (y!group link) opens.
• January 4: Be All My Sins Remember'd airs in the US, marking the last appearance of Elizabeth Weir
• January 17: paintedspires (LJ link), opens for a one-time art challenge. The community expanded into a flash art challenge community and remained active for a year.
• February 10: notjustclosets (LJ link), a community for the Sparky Episodic Sexathon, a ficfest meant to encourage episode fic featuring Sheppard/Weir for every episode in seasons 1-3.
• February 22: The Kindred, Part 1 airs in the US, marking the return of Carson Beckett.
• March: mckeller_ship (LJ link), a McKay/Keller community opens. It remains active through 2010.
• April 23: First SGA_genficathon completed.
• June: stargateteenslist (y!group link) opens (for de-aged characters, not teenage writers).
• July 11: Search and Rescue airs in the US, marking the last appearance of Samantha Carter as commander of Atlantis.
• July 18: The Seed airs in the US, marking the first appearance of Richard Woolsey as commander of Atlantis.
• August: tea_and_sutures (LJ link) opens for the Teyla/Beckett pairing. The community is now defunct.
• August 9: swawards (LJ link), a communtiry for Sheppard/Weir fan awards opens. The awards run that year only.
• August 20: The announcement that season five will be the last is officially made.

2009

• January: Stargatekiddrabbles (y!group link) (for de-aged characters).
• January: Stargate Legends (y!group link),a missing scene fanfiction group, opens.
• January 5: ronon_amelia (LJ link), a community for the Ronon/Amelia pairing opens. It remains active through 2011.
• January 9: Enemy at the Gate, the last episode of the series, airs in the US.
• January 26: casa_mcshep (LJ link), a community for periodic fests of curtainfic for McKay/Sheppard opens. It runs through 2010.

2010

• January 30: satedan_grabass (LJ link) begins taking sign ups for the first round of the John/Ronon Thing-a-Thon. Round 2 is held in 2011.
• March 15: Atlantis Big Bang succeeds SGA Big Bang Challenge (date of sign-ups)
• May 1: Artist sign-ups for first SGA Reverse Bang challenge
• June 23: SGA_kinkmeme Livejournal (link) and Dreamwidth (link) communities start.
