Vala Mal Doran was introduced in season 8 of Stargate SG-1 and became a regular character in season 10.
Fandom
Vala is often used in both het and femslash pairings, but only rarely in gen fanfiction.
In het, she is often paired with Daniel Jackson, in femslash most often with Samantha Carter. She's also been shipped with Cameron Mitchell.
In crossovers with SGA, the John Sheppard/Vala Mal Doran pairing has a small but devoted following. The lonely tarts club 2007 John/Vala thing-a-thon challenge generated multiple John/Vala fanworks.
