Creator's Notes
I love anime. That is what inspired this video, I just love anime. I love the history of anime. I grew up in the 90s where I watched Pokemon every weekend, watched Digimon, CCS. I saw anime go into the 2000s and saw the animation get cleaner and move in ways that blew my mind. Now in the 2010s I've seen anime reach even greater heights in both it's animation, story-telling and fans. But I look back and I see where it started on TV, where anime began to walk, that was with Astro Boy, Gegege no Kitaro, Speed Racer and few others. They were rough, simple, but incredibly charming. 70s was full of new technology and defying all odds, 80s was full of flight and adventures in places never reached before. I love anime, I love its history and it's just a medium that is simply, well...Timeless.
note - fun fact the picture in the credits is my anime collection.

That moment when it hits where you got into anime is pure magic.
Watched this at Anime Expo. People were losing their shit and got the biggest applause. Such an amazing AMV that capture the beauty and magic of anime over the decades.
As someone who wrote a research paper on the history of anime this blew my mind. You got all the major ones including the mothership Astro Boy to the 90s favorites (ah CLAMP how I adore you so) to the current ones! I could literally count the time eras yet the way it's edited made it so the different art styles did not clash at all. Well done. (I'm now wishing I could've put this in my powerpoint.)
This video is absolutely beautiful. The editing towards the ending in particular is absolutely stunning, and just seeing all these anime that have made an impact over the years and how many people were wildly cheering for almost every single shot, it brought a tear to my eye. I'm honored to have seen this in the big screen at Anime Boston. Astounding work, dude.
