The Haruhi Problem

A 4chan thread about the shortest way to watch all 14 episodes of the first season in every possible order ended up solving a new mathematical problem. This was referred to among fans of the series and 4channers as "The Haruhi problem".

Haruhiism

A fake religion that some fans jokingly refer to themselves as being a part of. Haruhi is considered god of the religion. This is largely influenced by Haruhi's canonical and unconscious ability to alter reality to her whims.

Hare Hare Yukai Dance

The first 13 episodes of the anime feature the ending song "Hare Hare Yukai" with the main cast animated doing a choreographed dance along to the music.[1] This quickly caught on at anime conventions and it was common in the 2000s and in some cases into the early 2010s to see con attendees perform the dance together, often while cosplaying.[2]

  • Requiem of the Endless Eight by l33tmeatwad - a well regarded AMV playing tribute to the much discussed (and much hated) "Endless Eight" arc of the anime, a time loop storyline in which eight nearly identical episodes were aired over almost two months with only subtle, minor differences between most of them.
