Marmalade Boy (ママレード・ボーイ) is a shoujo series created by Yoshizumi Wataru. It tells the story of Koishikawa Miki, a girl whose parents divorce, swap partners with another couple, remarry and all of them move together in the same house. The Matsuuras have a son that is Miki's age. Although they don't get on well at the start, as the series progresses, they fall in love. There will be other love interests for both of them.
Fandom
In the West, Marmalade Boy's anime gained significant popularity, particularly in Italy where it was titled "Piccoli Problemi di Cuore" (Little Problems of the Heart), and in Spain where it was titled "La Familia Crece" (The Family Grows), airing in the afternoons. It attracted a large and diverse audience, extending beyond typical anime enthusiasts who wanted to know who Miki ended up dating out of all the love interests. This success led the publishing company Planeta DeAgostini to license and publish the manga.
