Onward, Side by Side is a Fates zine centered on the relationships between the game’s Royal Lords and their Retainers.

Interest checks opened on October 17 and closed on October 31, 2021. Contributors could apply to the project from November 1 to November 21, 2021.

Preorders began on February 25, 2022 with the following pricing tiers:

• Hoshido Bundle ($35 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Postcard Print, Bookmark, Acrylic Charm, Die-cut Sticker, Stretch Goals
• Nohr Bundle ($35 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Charm, Die-cut Stickers, Stretch Goals
• Full Bundle ($50 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, A5 Prints, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Charms, Die-cut Stickers, Bookmark, Memo Pad, Washi Tape, Stretch Goals

The NSFW side zine, Bound to You, could be purchased separately or added onto other bundles for $5 USD. Fore select physical bundles, stretch goals included calendar prints at 50 orders, a gold foil upgrade for the Hoshido Bundle's bookmark at 75 orders, and an enamel pin at 100 orders.

All orders, physical and digital, were shipped out by July 29, 2022. Remaining merchandise was sold à la carte during their leftover sales, which ran from September 12 to October 12, 2022. The project finished on November 13, 2022 with an announcement that $1,021.47 was raised and donated to Never Again Action and a link to the digital versions of both the zine and the NSFW side zine through Google Drive .
