Alcryst/Fogado is a popular yaoi ship in Fire Emblem Engage fandom.
Canon
Alcryst and Fogado are both younger brother Princes, Alcryst the second prince of Brodia and Fogado the younger brother to Crown Princess Timerra of Solm. They meet around chapter 12, when Fogado and his retainers join Alear's efforts, and have a set of support conversations.
Fogado is friendly and outgoing, wanting to get to know Alcryst as his fellow younger brother Prince, while Alcryst suffers from low self-esteem and constant self-deprecation, which he feels make him unworthy of Fogado's time.
While Engage does not have paired endings, the two have a support conversation and semi-unique dialogue if they share a meal at B-rank support. [1]

The ship took off quickly, with Alcryst becoming a fan favorite character almost instantly and fans loving the dynamic between him and Fogado in their supports. This set of lines in particular jumped out at a lot of people:

While Fogado's next words were to declare them best friends, the homoromantic tone didn't escape slash shippers, and Fogado's overall flirty nature encouraged them further. Fans are drawn to the layered dynamic between the two and the many layers within; Alcryst seems like a shy wallflower who runs away easily, but is actually quite sociable and longs to get to know other people despite feeling unworthy of them. Fogado, meanwhile, seems like the carefree party boy, but is also incredibly patient and kind with Alcryst rather than trying to force their friendship. Many fics like to delve deeper into these layers, sometimes even subverting the dynamic by having Alcryst be the brave one while Fogado expresses self-doubt.
On AO3, the ship is Alcryst's second most-written ship and Fogado's most-written overall, and the most-written m/m ship for both characters.
