Fannish History

My early fandoms were very personal affairs - I read the Star Wars extended universe and read forums, and I took part in a small Lord of the Rings RP with close friends only.
Harry Potter was my first (what I call) real fandom - in I joined Fanfiction.net in 2002 and from 2003 began to read and write a lot of Remus/Sirius fic. I moved to Livejournal in 2004, sticking with Harry Potter fandom for a few years, before drifting away during university.
In 2007 I joined Doctor Who fandom, where I read and wrote a lot of Doctor/Master (I'm pretty much a mono shipper in all my fandoms). I started with New Who, but moved into Classic Who, Big Finish and the Eighth Doctor Adventures.
I became interested in Blake's 7 (and Blake/Avon - I did try to warn you) in 2012. More than any of my previous fandoms, I'm interested in the history of this fandom. I've started to collect zines and Fanlore has become increasingly invaluable.
I joined Carry On in 2018 - helping to add to the Fanlore pages in 2021!

I'm still learning by doing - and I apologise in advance for any obvious blunders/sweeping statements.

I am a back-up editor (previously full-time editor) for Who Daily
I have run the following fests: More Politics (based on the Big Finish ranges 'Gallifrey' and 'Bernice Summerfield' - ran three years) and Podtor_Who (a Doctor Who podfic fest - ran one year, but with the intention of running again).
I run readalongs at Henriettastreet (EDA LJ comm)

I help mod Trope Bingo
I ran the fest Unconventionalcourtship (a panfandom romance-novel-prompt challenge).
