Welcome to Fanlore Project: Buffyverse!
This project was created in order to add more info to Fanlore about BtVS and AtS as they relate to fandom. It was also created to be a place to brainstorm, add links, and hopefully be a place of enthusiasms and shared knowledge. Please feel welcome to add to and edit any aspect of this page.
Scope
Anything and everything related to the Buffyverse, with a particular focus on fanworks and communities that are defunct, lost or at risk. Livejournal isn't going to exist forever!
Some Things to Keep in Mind
- Information for new editors can be found in our New Visitor Portal. Among other things, it explains how to make an account, how to start a new page, and includes a lot of other helpful information.
- Discussion on this project's Talk page is encouraged, as is discussion on individual article Talk pages.
- All edits, whether big, tiny, or in-between, are welcome.
- You don't have to be an "expert" on a subject. Adding what you know and feel passionate about are pieces of the puzzle, and ones that hopefully inspire others to expand on the topic.
- All typos, mistakes, and errors are easily corrected. Don't let perfection hobble you.
- Remember that Fanlore, like all wikis, is a collaborative effort, and may be edited by anyone.
- Pages are not "owned" or controlled by any single person or group of people.
- Pages and the information on them are only as robust, encompassing, and accurate as the information added by interested and enthusiastic fans like you.
- Fanlore practices and encourages a Fanlore:Plural Point of View.
Goals
- Updating older articles
- Several Buffyverse article were written a very long time ago, before the format of Fanlore articles were standardized and may require updates to comply with current standards.
- Recently updated articles which may be useful examples, include: Tara Maclay, Buffy/Faith, Barbverse, Yet Another Halloween Fic
- Review links to ensure they still work!
- All About Spike links need to be replaced with archived links as that site is currently offline. [LIST other sites requiring similar updates here]
- Creating new articles
Areas of Focus
Fanfiction & Meta
- Create and populate Fanfiction by Relationship categories. Note: there is currently conversations ongoing about standardizing Fic by Ship category names, and these category names may change as a result. See Category talk:Fanfiction by Relationship
- Also add pages to Category:Buffyverse Crossover Fanfiction
- Document Willow/Tara Human AU fics and any links to Xena uber
- Fannish opposition to fantasy/human Au and RPF stories.
- Fanfic author to pro author pipeline. Did it exist? Linden Bay? (eurydice mentioned something in her interview with Anne Jameson for fic)
- Awards sites, with lists of winners/runners up if available
