Alternate Marvel was a collaborative fanfiction project which began in the year 2000. The premise was an alternative comics line, diverging from the Onslaught storyline with the heroes defeating Onslaught rather than sacrificing themselves and kicking off the Heroes Reborn storyline. The project continued some series and started others, and ran for six years following on their own continuity[1].
Each individual series was written by a single writer and prospective writers had to apply to join in. The imprints each had their own individual editors.
