Lou Mougin, better known in the fan community as DarkMark, was a comics historian and writer. He contributed to the fan magazines Amazing Heroes and The Comic Reader, and in the 1970s and 1980s he worked with George Olshevsky on the Official Marvel Index, a complete index of all the Marvel characters. He also wrote comics, prose fiction, and books on comics history, including Secondary Action Heroes of Golden Age Comics. His prose novel Monster in the Lost World is also slated for publication in January 2023[1].
He was also a prolific writer of fanfic, in a range of genres spanning the "Big Two" of comics, Marvel and DC, Vertigo, Peanuts, Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossovers, Spawn, Archie Comics, miscellaneous games and indie comics. In his own words on his Fanfiction.net bio: "I refuse to be confined to any single company or character.[2]"
