Kara Zor-El is a DC Comics superheroine known as Supergirl. She has appeared in various adaptations and stories of the character.
Canon
Supergirl made her first appearance in Superman #123 (August 1958) as Super-Girl by writer Otto Binder and designed by artist Al Plastino, before being reintroduced as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl first appeared in Action Comics #252 (May 1959).
