Femslash Multifandom Ficathon is a multifandom exchange which ran from 2004 to 2012, first on Livejournal and later migrating to cross-post on Dreamwidth. It was something of a predecessor to the Femslash Exchange, which started in 2013 and remains running in 2023.
Each year of the challenge people submitted up to 6 requests, with a minimum of 4 requests added to the rule in 2007. Up to 3 requests (and at least 1) could be from listed fandoms, which tended to be popular fandoms in femslash at the time and made matching up participants easier and it more likely that someone's request would be fulfilled. Up to 3 submissions could also be made to wildcard fandoms, which could be any other fandom, but tended to be smaller, less well-known fandoms.
Everyone who submitted requests was expected to complete 1 request. During the request submissions, they would detail the listed fandoms they would write for and any wildcard fandoms.
Completed works were to be a minimum of 1,000 words.
2004 Fest
The first Femslash Multifandom Ficathon was held from January to March 2004. 41 fanworks were submitted to the ficathon. [1]
