Some of the content is online here: Beyond Spock, Archived version.
Title Change
The club, LNAF, began as the "Leonard Nimoy National Association of Fans" or LNNAF. The name was changed in 1970 (sometime between March and August) when several British and Canadian members and chapters joined up, and Louise Stange took over the reins.
Adventures in Mimeo
In 1978, from the club's president:
"The mimeograph I use is an A.B. Dick 535. Previous to 1975, I had an old Sears mimeograph (which was new when I bought It In 1969) which was held together with electrical tape end 'luck.' The motor was not large enough and it become very hot-—so hot I had to rewire portions of it with a regular light switch for the "on and off" controls… I ran it like that for over a year. Fortunately, the A. B. Dick salesman from whom I purchased all my paper at that time was keeping an eye out for any good used machines that came into the Dayton Branch, and when this one arrived, he called me with the good news. It was in incredibly good shape with perfect mechanical parts, and just a few scratches on the plastic case. It had belonged to a church that took very good care of it. The motor Is VERY heavy duty and can really take continual use very well indeed! After the book is run on the mimeograph, I have a little mini-collator which I also found on sale and purchased to put pages together, and this step goes very quickly. Then it's into the envelopes, into the mail, and on to your mail box (along with high hopes that once I drop it off at the post office, it will reach you safely and in one piece!), for you to read and enjoy!" [1]
1968
Leonard Nimoy Association of Fans Yearbook 1968 contains 50 pages. It includes a letter from Leonard Nimoy, editorial, articles/news, lots of black/white photos and artwork, fan letters, interviews, etc.
Note that the name of this publication had a slight change a year later when several British and Canadian clubs joined. See Leonard Nimoy Association of Fans for more information.
From Louise Stange:
While I have this opportunity to openly communicate with all of you, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has made the past LNNAF year such a pleasure for me! "Thanks" to each member who has sent me, throughout the year, magazine information, newspaper clippings, extra postage stamps, contributions to be used for postage stamps•••I could go on and on. I have tried to thank each of you individually, but I want to thank you collectively, here and now, and tell you that it is you who have contributed to the current success of the LNNAF--I, as one individual, could not have accomplished it alone. Next, I would like to offer "thanks" to the Staff members who have became my right-arms and, often, my eyes and ears! I have been very fortunate to have found such eager and enthusiastic -- and highly qualified -- fans to help me in the various channels they now occupy. Lastly, how could the LNNAF have continued without the limitless cooperation and friendship of the two people who continually inject "life" into the club--Leonard Nimoy and Teresa Victor! It is he who honors the LNNAF with his name -- but the fact that he offers us his friendship as well -- is an added bonus. Like a father with his child, Leonard Nimoy is forever concerned with the joys -- and problems -- of his namesake: the LNNAF. For that, I am truly grateful. And the cooperation of Teresa Victor, his Girl Friday, is consistently "beyond the call of duty", making the daily operation of the LNNAF for me a pleasure.
It is no wonder that, with all these things going for it, the LNNAF has continued to mature, continued to grow (in size AND age) and serves as a constant reminder to me that I am not alone in my respect for Leonard Nimoy, the Performer and the Man.
From Nimoy:
Probably the most "special" news that I can give you in this particular letter is, "Mr. Spock" sings on "Star Trek". That is to say, it is news as I write this letter. Since I do not know when the particular episode is scheduled to air, it is entirely possible that you will have seen it by the time you read this. In any case, it takes place in an episode called, "Plato's Stepchildren". The song is one that I composed myself while on a weekend with my son, Adam at Lake Arrowhead in between swimming, fishing and sailing, I composed the words and music and titled it, "Maiden Wine". It will also be included in the next album that I will record for Dot Records. In regards to that album, it will feature more arrangements by George Tipton, who has been doing the arrangements for Nilsson and Feliciano.

I don't think I can honestly take a position on long hair as an entity. unto itself. It would depend entirely upon the individual. In some cases long or longish hair is very attractive, in others quite the opposite is true. It is important to understand that this kind of evaluation is necessary in many things in life. Too often we make a general judgment about a certain kind of clothing or style. I believe that we should leave some room for creative experimentation in our lives. I don't believe that I have ever heard anyone say that the Apostles should have gone to a barber more often.")(9)

- Stories for the Feeble-Minded, essay by Nancyann Hiera ("Have you ever picked up one of those cheapie-magazines that use sensational titles to attract readers? When you first read the cover, your eyeballs nearly fallout of your head because the stories sound so suggestive. If you are one of the unfortunates who turns to the story inside to satisfy his curiosity, you'll find a half-baked article, completely innocent and poorly written. Another trick of theirs is to put half the title on the cover, and the rest of it inside the magazine. It helps to mislead the reader before he purchases it. Well, we are going to give those sick publications a run for their money. Perhaps they don't realize how rediculous their sensationalism is, but we're going to attempt to get the point across. All seriousness aside, we're presenting a few suggestions for more of those.") (15)

Reactions and Reviews: 1968
The latest LNNAF publication is the 1968 Yearbook, containing a newsletter from Leonard Nimoy; his answers to club members' questions; articles by members (including one reprinted from Plak-Tow); an article on Frank Vinci, Leonard Nimoy's stand-in; and some good photos — some from magazines, others taken by fans. The winner of the 1968 Nimoy Award is Louise Stange, president of the Capsule Seven chapter. Louise received the award plaque and telegrams from Leonard Nimoy and Peggye Vickers. Runners-up for the award were Vera Heminger and "Sam" Cole. Congratulations! [2]

It is a double issue as there was not an individual 1969 yearbook. A bit about the planning from Leonard Nimoy Association of Fans Bulletin (August 1970):
This publication is our pre—yearbook bulletin. We are going to do something a little different in that we are not only going to let you know some of the latest Leonard Nimoy news, but give you a preview of the upcoming yearbook, and let you know what you can do to help make the 69/70 yearbook the extra-special endeavor we all want it to be! That's right! 69/7O! We are going to combine two years into one yearbook —- the best of both years. This is a very large undertaking, and with the cooperation of all LNNAFers, it will be just that — the best of both years - the very best! Because there was no yearbook in 1969, we are going to have the 1970 yearbook early. This is a deviation from the regular schedule, however, to combine two years into one yearbook is a gigantic project, therefore requiring more preparation, time, and above all, a sincere group effort!
From Nimoy's newsletter:
I would like to touch briefly on the matter of fan magazine stories and items in fan magazines columns. There has been a great deal of material about myself and my family printed in these magazines. Much of it is factual, and some of the magazines take great pains to be accurate. However, the fact is that there are many cases where supposed interviews are reported, in spite of the fact that these interviews never actually took place. Therefore, I have been quoted as saying some things which were not the case, and this is also true of my wife, Sandi, There have also been some column items regarding our activities, which unfortunately are totally untrue. I have had several conversations with editors and publishers of these magazines, and am making efforts to cooperate only with those magazines which refrain from scandal and sensational methods in their reporting, I think it's unfair to the personalities and to the readers to report material which is untrue. Unfortunately, [some] of these publishers are cynical enough that they will publish most anything and entertain the idea of a law suit as being good for publicity for the magazine. My personal reaction is simply to stop any communication with those magazines which fall into that category. I don't believe in dignifying them by entering into squabbles with them. I can only tell you that most of the material in these magazines must be taken with a grain of salt.
If you find it entertaining to read this material then so be it. However, be warned that much of it is fiction.

Leonard Nimoy Association of Fans Yearbook 1986 was published in 1987 and edited by Barbara Walker. It is 43 pages plus covers. The Yearbook has no month of publication, but is probably from March 1987. The Yearbook came with an annual letter from Nimoy dated March 9, 1987, so it is after that. These annual letters were usually included within the Yearbook, so this being a separate included letter implies that the yearbook was probably well into production when the letter was received.
