The Hermitshipping Big Bang is an ongoing Big Bang challenge that was organized on Tumblr in May 2023.[1] It is primarily focused on shipping characters from Hermitcraft, but also allows ships from the Life SMP Series, Empires SMP, the Origins Life series (X Life SMP, After Life SMP, and New Life SMP) and Evolution SMP, as these fandoms are closely tied to the Hermitcraft fandom.[2]
Challenge History
The Hermitshipping Big Bang was created by masque-of-plague and spadeyhearty.
Preliminary interest checks for the Big Bang were posted to the event's Tumblr blog on May 21st, 2023. Moderator applications opened to public on May 26th and closed on June 9th with acknowledgement that the team was open to any necessary expansion as the event progresses. Writer, beta reader, and initial artist interest sign-ups all opened on June 10th, with writer sign-ups closing on June 24th. Art claims are planned to officially open on September 4th, and beta reader sign-ups will continue to stay open for the duration of the event.
The current timeline plans for posting to begin on January 1st, 2024.[3]
