Hermione/Remus is a het pairing between Hermione Granger and Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon
Hermione and Remus first meet in the third book, Prisoner of Azkaban, on the train towards Hogwarts.
Fandom
Hermione/Remus is a crossgen pairing.
Hermione and Remus are often paired in a threesome with Sirius Black or Severus Snape, but has also been paired with Ginny Weasley and Fenrir Greyback.
Common Tropes & Storylines
Prior to Sixth and Seventh Book release, the main tropes used in Hermione/Remus works are:
- Time Travel - Either by herself or with another, Hermione gets stuck in the past during the Marauders Era where she finds herself falling in love with Remus, and Remus in love with her. In some storylines, Hermione gets returned back to her time where she has to deal with Remus.
- This usually helps people that squick at their age difference.
- Unrequited Love - is a major theme in fics, usually because of their age difference
- Marriage Law - although usually to a lessor content than other HP pairings due to the fact that Remus is a werewolf and is usually excluded from the law. Most of them take place in the future where Hermione is in her last year of Hogwarts or post-Hogwarts.
- Werewolves' common tropes such as mates and knotting, and usually Hermione becoming a werewolf as well but it doesn't always happen.
- PWP are quite popular.
- AUs/Futurefics - quite popular, sometimes unintentionally just simply because all the HP!canon and no one had any idea how HP would end prior to seventh book.
After the Seventh Book's release, the most prominent tropes/storylines are still above but now includes:
- EWE, where Hermione doesn't end up with Ron and/or Remus Lupin is alive.
- This is usually due to Remus being alive & Tonks still killed.
- Teddy Lupin usually makes an appearance, with Hermione either adopting Teddy or becoming Teddy's caretaker or stepmother even.

- ^ Serpentina1 writes in the author's notes of the Snape/Hermione fic A little of your time (posted 27 December 2014):
- "A nod and a thank you to *Miss Park Avenue*, who was the first person, I believe, to post a Potterverse Time-Turner story. Before reading her clever fic, I could not think of a plausible way to get my Hermione’s Time-Turner to malfunction. It is to MPA and her story *Lost in the Marauders’ Time* that I (and so many other HG/SS shippers) owe the brilliant idea of falling down the stairs!"
