Hajime Hinata is a student from Dangan Ronpa. He is a prominent character within the series and popular with fans. Hinata debuted in the first game of the series, Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, as Dangan Ronpa's second protagonist. He also played a significant role in Dangan Ronpa 3: End of Hope's Peak High School. Dangan Ronpa's first protagonist was Makoto Naegi.

• Hinata's most popular pairing is his rival Nagito Komaeda, which is M/M, aka Boys' Love. In Japanese, this is most often called 狛日, meaning Komaeda attacks and Hinata receives in the coupling. This is the most popular pairing in the entirety of Dangan Ronpa fandom.
