The Camelot Music Video Awards are an award for fanvids in Merlin fandom. The awards were founded by bleu4bleu who is also the founder of the merlin_vids community and all announcements are posted to the camelot_awards community. The categories of the awards are designed to fit a much more balanced fandom but the nominations show that it's not that easy to fit the Merlin fandom into these categories.
CMVA 2008
For the 2008 awards any vid made and posted by December 31, 2008 was eligible for nomination.[1] In the characters category all four main characters Merlin, Arthur, Gwen and Morgana were suggested as award divisions and pairings were supposed to be split into Merlin/Arthur, Arthur/Gwen and Arthur/Morgana.[1] However, the character and pairing categories were not meant to be set in stone. Divisions of these two categories were supposed to be added or removed based upon nominations.[1] In order for a division to be a category, there had to be at least three nominations.[1] As it turned out, there were not enough nominations for Merlin and Gwen and the only pairing besides Merlin/Arthur with enough nominations was Morgana/Gwen, even though that hadn't been one of the originally proposed divisions of the pairing category. Both 1st and 2nd place in the "Other" category are Merlin RPF vids--one Bradley-centric and the other Bradley/Colin RPS.

CMVA 2009
For the 2009 awards any Merlin vid made and posted between January 1, 2009 - November 1, 2009 was eligible for nomination. Originally the rules for 2009 said that in order for a character or pairing to be a category, there had to be at least three nominations.[2] If there were not enough nominations for a specific 'Character' and/or a 'Pairing' category, the vids were supposed to be grouped into the "Other" category.[2] However, the only character who got three nominations was Morgana. Arthur and Gwen only had two nominations each but in the end they were allowed to be separate categories anyway.
