Wriothesley is the warden of the Fortress of Meropide, a prison in Fontaine that acts as a realm unto itself, operating independently of Fontaine's legal system. He was originally a prisoner himself before eventually reaching his current rank and instituting a series of reforms within the prison.

- Pronouncing his name: Many fans were baffled by how to pronounce his name [1] leading to many jokes and corrections as well as occasionally complaints about how the voice actors pronounced his name. The most common joke name is Rizz-ley -- not only does it sound close to the name, many fans felt charmed/seduced by this character, and so he has "rizz". Another common one is Wrio-the-slay, for similar reasons.
