Paimon is a prominent non-playable character in the game Genshin Impact. She serves as the companion and travel guide to the player character, known as the Traveler. Paimon is characterized by her cheerful and outspoken nature, often providing commentary and assistance to the player throughout their adventures through Teyvat.

Canon

Paimon is a floating, fairy-like creature with a great apetite. She also has a penchant for giving humorous and endearing nicknames to various characters in the game and is known in return like Emergency Food by the Traveler, Flying Lavender Melon by Arataki Itto, or White Floaty by the Aranara. She meets the Traveler after they rescued her from drowning. In return, Paimon vows to help the Traveler reunite with their sibling. Through their journey together, Paimon and the Traveler become close friends, to the point where Paimon gets really worried whenever something bad happens to the Traveler.

The past and nature of her existence remains a mystery and subject to speculation.
