Mondstadt (also known as Mond) is the first of the seven nations of Teyvat that the Traveler goes to in the game Genshin Impact. Its element is Anemo, and its people worship the Anemo Archon Venti (also known as Barbatos).

Canon

Mondstadt was released with the base game in update 1.0, and is the place players find themselves after the opening cutscene of the game. The nation is under the protection of the Knights of Favonius in the absence of Barbatos, who, as the God of Freedom, does not rule over it directly. Mondstadt has a bustling wine industry, and its main city is located on an island in the middle of a large lake. The largest landmarks in the city are its numerous windmills and its cathedral.

The nation is heavily inspired by traditional fantasy settings and Germany.
