Rizz is a slang term popularized by Kai Cenat, a popular Twitch streamer. The Oxford University Press defines it as ‘style, charm, or attractiveness; the ability to attract a romantic or sexual partner’[1] which can also be used as a verb. Rizz comes from Charisma.

Although rizz was not coined by fans, fannish circles on TikTok and other platforms may say charismatic characters "have a lot of rizz" and that they "rizz up" others. It's more claimed as a wider character trait rather than as fuel for a particular ship over another. In ships of two where this term is used to describe one of the characters in it, Pookie Bear may be used to describe the other. Characters with a lot of rizz who are queercoded may also be called zest fests.

The opposite of rizz is simply having negative rizz. W rizz, short for winning rizz, is also very common and was also popularized by Kai Cenat.

In general, the term is more commonly used for male characters than female ones.

Characters who "have a lot of rizz" may also be considered "fandom bicycles," characters shipped with just about anyone and anything by fans.
