Any opinions on when we can post details on the big Avengers movie spoiler? It seems like it ought to be safe now, given that it's been a year and the trailers for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. allude to it, but I'm hesitant to put in the details without somebody else's take. . . I would say that it's been long enough, and I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned on other Fanlore pages already. In general, we do have a spoiler template for things that are deemed "recent" developments, but no real policy (AFAIK) on how long a spoiler warning should stay up. --sparc (talk) 06:31, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

I think the it's been long enough as well. I'm pretty sure someone has to be living under a rock if they haven't heard the news now about what was the "big spoiler" (or at least absolutely never seen the series). Generally spoiler warnings last until the movie comes out on DVD (or at least a few weeks after the movie premiers). And as you said the trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reveals the truth. That and I believe more than enough fics/gifs/vids have probably revealed the "spoiler" by now. --Harpie (talk) 09:13, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Are we trying to merge this page with List of Marvel Universes? Right now this page seems to be turning into a collection of headers without text followed by lists of things and the missing content seems to be on the List of Marvel Universes page. I don't know? It feels like most of this info fits better on this page to me, because "List of Marvel Universes" seems like it ought to just be a glossary page -- explain that Marvel is a multiverse, lay out what the code designations for the major universes are, link to those universes' fandom pages, like this one which I was reading as a catch-all for all the Avengers fandoms. The pages can't be simply merged, because the List of Marvel Universes includes non-Avengers universes too, but it seems like a lot of the info on the List page should be moved elsewhere. My got feeling agrees with you. The quotes all seem to be from a Steve/Tony perspective and that's not what I would expect on a Universes page that seems to be a guide to universes and inlcudes the main continutiy and Ultimate and Noir Universes that aren't all about the Avengers, but also about X-Men and Fantastic Four and so on. The List of Marvel Universes probably ought to be a glossary page and maybe link to the relevant fandom pages like this one for the Avengers fandoms. So most of the information on the "List" page would make more sense to me on other pages like fandom, pairing and character pages. Maybe? I'm not sure. I know this is a bit late to the discussion, but I was looking at the page and I just find it really distracting - There is just a lot of information between the comics, animated series and the Movieverse on just one page. I really think this page should just be focused on the Comics version of The Avengers, and then separate the others (say The Avengers (Movieverse) and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes) like the X-Men pages have (X-Men Movieverse, X-Men: Evolution, X-Men: First Class etc). It'll definitely take care of some of the clutter and maybe help others add to it with more than just different Steve/Tony information. I agree that the page is becoming too long and unwieldy. Just a thought, but what do you think of leaving this page as disambiguation page of sorts, just an overview of the different canons, plus a section on fannish crossovers between them? That could for example be the place to talk about adding characters from the comics to fic set in the MCU, and which tropes occur in all 'verses. And then separate pages for Avengers (Marvel Comics), Avengers (Movieverse) (or Avengers (MCU)?) etc. Imo it would be sufficiently separate from List of Marvel Universes, which is more of a Glossary page, though there may be some overlap. --Tiyire (talk) 21:17, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Looking at the page as it is now, I totally agree that it's really distracting and that it would be better to separate the pages in the way you're proposing. I mean there is overlap between fandoms for the different versions, but being in MCU fandom doesn't mean you're in comics fandom and the overlap should be addressed in the articles somewhere, but overall it would make more sense to me to have different pages here like we have for X-Men. I like Tiyire's proposition to leave this page as a sort of overview page and then separate the different Avengers fandoms.--Fantomas (talk) 22:12, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Alright so I reworked the page a bit and I separated them into: The Avengers Movieverse and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The Avengers (Marvel) is focused on the comic versions of The Avengers, however I did include at the top an disambiguation of a sort. I don't think a complete disambiguation page would be a great idea - what the X-Men page has works for it and I think that would be a great idea to finalize into The Avengers (Marvel) page (and since The Avengers page is already a disambiguation page, I think it would be too much). I think taking care of the overlaps of tropes/pairings/characters is the next step and what I propose to do is this link (at least for now) if anyone likes that idea. I'm not in the Avengers comics fandom so I can't add more to it but I can try to organize everything. --Harpie (talk) 19:12, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

• Character pages are mainly stubs with a few here and there that aren't.
• Pairing pages are for the most part stubs, they need to be expanded. More Non-MCU pairings need pages created. More gen relationships are needed.
• Art, Vids and Fanfiction works and other fanworks need to be added, especially works that aren't Steve/Tony.
