Welcome, Tiyire. I'm glad you're here. :) --Mrs. Potato Head 19:45, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- (very belated) Thank you! I am, too. :) --Tiyire 21:22, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for all your work on the List of OTW 2011 Board Election links page, it looks so much better now. The page was such a mess before! -- Kylara 12:14, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! And thanks to you for starting it! (I think I messed up the timeline a bit. For example, there's a reaction post to lim's resignation by boundbook apparently posted earlier than the resignation itself, but I fail at timezones and can't figure out which date is wrong. Could you take a look?)--Tiyire 12:24, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Hi Tiyrie. Another belated welcome and thank you for your editing help and contributions. Good to have you on board. --MeeDee 00:28, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! *waves* Thanks and back at you - your recent efforts made me want to make pages for all the shiny vids, but there are so many! --Tiyire 23:10, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to you, Brand New Committee Member! :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 21:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! I now have a shiny new spam hammer :D --Tiyire 21:56, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I note you've changed the history of Garak/Bashir to hide an identity. Unfortunately, as a result, you've assigned all my content on this page to another editor. Is this impossible to avoid? (Doesn't it contravene the author attribution required by the CC licence?) Espresso Addict 11:30, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I only restored the versions that didn't mention the name in question, and most of them did. Unfortunately it doesn't say anywhere that revisions were deleted. The only other option I can think of is to hide revisions separately (and we do that if it's only a few, but when it's ten or twenty or more revisions it's much easier to delete&restore), but even in that case author attribution to specific parts of the page is impossible.
- I don't know exactly how the CC licence works, but I will ask. --Tiyire 12:02, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm an admin on the English Wikipedia and, if we use the same licence (which I believe we do), then it's essential to maintain author attribution to content. The summary of the licence linked on this page reads You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author... which en-wiki interprets as in the history section. Espresso Addict 12:19, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- Legal says that the CC license only requires attribution for copying, not for the original content. I didn't find that exact section on wikipedia to compare. --Tiyire 00:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. I guess the difference must be that en-wiki is committed to distributing itself in various off-wiki ways whereas there aren't plans (afaik) to do this with Fanlore content. Espresso Addict 02:34, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

I know I hit the public thank you button thing, but I just wanted to repeat: thank you so much for adding Dreaming of Sunshine! Having a stub article to start from for some reason made it much less daunting, I guess because I've been wondering if Fanlore really wanted that sort of content.
- Thank you for taking that stub and making a great page out of it! I'm only peripherally in Naruto fandom so I was hesitant about making pages, but it's a lot easier if I imagine it as just creating a base for other people to build on, and I'm happy that that's exactly what happened. I'd be happy to collaborate on more pages :) --Tiyire (talk) 19:07, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
I actually have so much more content I want to add about Dreaming of Sunshine but from experience I know the page will turn out better if I take some time to step away and work on other pages in between. Also I'm a little worried about finding PPOV things for it... I know all kinds of places to find positive commentary about DoS but looking for negative things/criticism is going a little slower. Also lmao I keep linking to Naruto pages that haven't been created yet so maybe that's a good place to start? Besides all the characters that are needed, of course.Hoopla (talk) 20:22, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- Oh yes, there are tons of Naruto characters that don't have pages yet and should, also pairings, and fanfic and other fanworks... As I'm not really part of the fandom it'll be harder to find context/sources/etc., but I could just start a bunch of stubs/help out where I can.--Tiyire (talk) 21:17, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah I have pretty strong google-fu and managed to use LJ for once in my life to dig up those Shikamaru comms, but I'm basically unqualified to try and flesh pages out. Still, I think just making the stubs would encourage people! It's pretty ridiculous to be lacking so much Naruto info and not even having the pages probably makes the fandom feel unwelcome; I know I've come here previously thinking about making a Dreaming of Sunshine page and decided not to because the wiki is so western-focused.
It might also be good to have more, uh, page templates I guess is the term? I mean the info boxes are good, but it was super hard to find any examples at all of what sort of information should go on a fanfiction page and how best to organize it, so I've just ended up sort of winging it based on the information I have. Most fic won't have as 'much' information as DoS but standardization can only help prompt better contributions from others. This is probably true of other page types, too, like characters. I was glad to have Sakura's page to base Shikamaru's on. I'm new to the wiki but there's probably a general talk page where it'd be appropriate to bring this kind of thing up, right? -- Hoopla (talk) 21:53, 12 July 2018 (UTC)- Absolutely, it is sad how much info about non-western fandoms Fanlore is lacking. I should make more of an effort to change that.
- It sounds like you were looking for something like Help:Fanworks? It has some info on what could be added, and so do other help pages for other categories. Imo it's certainly worth discussing if these help pages should e.g. be linked directly on the template pages so they are easier to find. As far as I know there's not really a general talk page, but something like that could be discussed for example on the Talk page of Category:Infoboxes.--Tiyire (talk) 22:23, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- I do wonder if it's just because people don't know about the wiki and that fanlore 'wants' that content. Several people on the Dreaming of Sunshine discord expressed some surprise that it exists.
- That's pretty much exactly what I was looking for! Looking it up through the 'what links here' function, it 'is' linked on the fanwork template but it's linked to the phrase "individual fanworks" which I just... I dunno assumed was a link to, I don't know, an explanation of what a fanwork is, I guess. - Hoopla (talk) 15:20, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
