Ogata Hyakunosuke is a major character from the manga Golden Kamuy. He is considered a breakout character within the fandom, having more fanworks and fan activity associated with him than co-protagonists Asirpa and Sugimoto Saichi.
Ogata did not survive the Ainu gold hunt. He is last seen falling to his death from a moving train after the wrathful ghost of Yuusaku Hanazawa (his half-brother who he had murdered years before) convinced Ogata to shoot himself in the head.

Ogata Hyakunosuke/Sugimoto Saichi is the most popular pairing (coupling in Japanese) in all of the Golden Kamuy fandom. This pairs him with Sugimoto, his rival, who he shares opposing views with.
Hanazawa Yuusaku/Ogata Hyakunosuke is also very popular. While Ogata sees him as an enemy, Yuusaku sees him as a potential friend prior to his death.
